The Aeotec Dual Nano Switch (ZW132) is a dual-channel, in-wall Z-Wave relay module designed for concealed installation behind wall switches or inside electrical boxes. It enables wireless control and real-time energy monitoring, making it an ideal solution for upgrading existing installations without replacing the wall switch.
The ZW132 features two independent channels, each supporting up to 5 A (1150 W) resistive load. Both channels offer accurate energy measurement with a maximum deviation of ±3 W. Built on the Z-Wave Plus Gen5 platform, it supports OTA firmware updates, enhanced wireless range (~150 m), and AES‑128 encrypted communication. Thanks to its compact dimensions (44.5 × 41 × 20 mm), it can be mounted inside standard junction boxes or behind switches. Compatible with toggle, momentary, and touch switches. It reports real-time power consumption (watts) and cumulative energy usage (kWh). During power outages, the non-volatile memory retains all configuration settings. The Aeotec Dual Nano Switch is certified as a secure Z-Wave device and supports over-the-air firmware updates.
Aeotec (formerly Aeon Labs) is a leading manufacturer of Z-Wave Plus (Gen5) smart home devices. Its product range includes sensors, plug-in and in-wall relay modules, as well as central hubs. All devices come with AES‑128 encryption and are compatible with major Z-Wave platforms such as SmartThings, Home Assistant, Vera, and Fibaro.
Z-Wave is an international wireless communication protocol designed for smart homes. It ensures reliable communication through message acknowledgment (two-way communication) and supports mesh networking, where all powered nodes act as repeaters. This allows devices to communicate even if they are not within direct range of each other. All certified Z-Wave devices, regardless of brand or origin, can interoperate as long as they use the same frequency. Devices supporting secure communication will connect securely with others offering the same or higher security level, otherwise defaulting to a lower level to maintain backward compatibility.
